Catherine is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place located in southeastern Garfield County, Colorado, United States. The 2020 census counted 235 residents. The CDP is a part of the Rifle, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The Catherin, Colorado, post office operated from October 18, 1892, until February 15, 1902. That mix gives Catherine a clear local shape within Colorado, with older layers still visible in current places. The local scoop is a place whose streets, landmarks, and institutions keep its earlier story close to the present. The Carbondale post office serves the area. The CDP is located in the southeast corner of Garfield County, in the valley of the Roaring Fork River. Colorado State Highway 82 forms the northern edge of the CDP; it leads northwest 16 miles to Glenwood Springs, the Garfield County seat, and southeast 24 miles to Aspen.
