Cedar Hill, MO

Cedar Hill is a Jefferson County census-designated place about 32 miles southwest of St. Louis, with Missouri 30 running along its western side toward the city and St. Clair. A post office has operated here since 1868, and the community took its name from cedar trees near the elevated town site. The Big River is part of the wider local landscape, even as the highway now does most of the connecting work. Cedar Hill is eastern Missouri with an old postmark, a wooded name, and a road aimed at St. Louis.
