Center Point, AL

Center Point is a northeastern Jefferson County city in the Birmingham metro, formerly a census-designated place before incorporation. Its modern growth followed the eastward movement from Birmingham in the 1950s, as neighborhoods such as East Lake, Huffman, and Roebuck filled with new houses and residents. Center Point still feels closely tied to Birmingham's eastern side: residential, practical, and shaped by postwar suburban expansion more than by a separate old downtown story.
