Chandler, MN

Chandler is a quiet, close-knit prairie town tucked into southwestern Minnesota's Murray County. Home to around 300 people, it offers the kind of peaceful rural living where neighbors know each other and the open countryside is always just down the road. State Highway 91 runs right through the center of town, making it an easy drive to the county seat of Slayton, about 13 miles northeast, for daily essentials, groceries, and local services.

Perched along the high ground of Buffalo Ridge, Chandler has a resilient history shaped by its windswept landscape and community spirit. The area was once home to a Cold War radar station just south of town, and locals famously pulled together to rebuild after a massive tornado swept through in the early 1990s. Today, Chandler is a calm, down-to-earth farming community that offers wide open skies, plenty of breathing room, and a relaxed pace of life.
