About Chanute

Chanute is a city in Neosho County, Kansas, situated in the southeastern region of the state. Consolidated in 1872 from four rival rail communities and named for aviation pioneer Octave Chanute, the educational and industrial center of approximately 8,598 is home to Neosho County Community College and served by school district four-hundred-and-thirteen locally.
