About Chippewa Park

Chippewa Park is a census-designated place along the northern shore of Indian Lake in Logan County’s Stokes Township. Its boundaries make the community easy to picture: Ohio State Route 235 runs along the north, Blackhawk Run marks the east, Indian Lake forms the south, and Indian Lake State Park meets it on the west. The CDP also includes Island View, and the village of Lakeview sits about four miles to the southwest. This is a place defined by a narrow strip of road, water, parkland, and lakeside neighborhoods.

Indian Lake sets the pace of local life, bringing boating, fishing, campgrounds, and seasonal homes into the same landscape as year-round residences. The state park’s shoreline gives the western edge a public recreation connection, while Route 235 carries residents toward Lakeview, Russells Point, and the rest of the lake area. Cottages and neighborhood roads turn the lake into a daily reference point, not a distant attraction. Chippewa Park’s story is largely geographic: the lake on one side, the park on another, and a highway tying the shore to the wider county.
