About Chouteau

Located about 35 miles east of Tulsa where U.S. 69 crosses Highway 412, Chouteau is a quiet rural town of around 2,000 residents. The community offers a slow-paced lifestyle while sitting just a few minutes south of the MidAmerica Industrial Park, one of the area's biggest job centers. Living here means an easy commute to major employers, with the restaurants, shopping, and entertainment of Tulsa still less than 40 minutes away.

Chouteau is widely known for its ties to Oklahoma's largest Amish community, which shapes much of the local dining and shopping scene. You will find bakeries, bulk food stores, homestyle diners, and handcrafted furniture shops throughout the area, alongside the popular Black Buggy Day festival each fall. For outdoor recreation, Chouteau Bend on the Grand River and several nearby lakes offer great fishing and boating close to home.
