About Chula Vista CDP (Maverick County)
Chula Vista is a CDP in Maverick County on the southeast side of Eagle Pass, close to the Rio Grande and the border with Mexico. The place is a compact South Texas community shaped by ranch country, newer residential streets, and the daily pull of Eagle Pass. Its flat, sun-bright setting sits within the larger Maverick County landscape, where international ties and long-established local families are part of ordinary life.
Chula Vista was known as Rosita North when it first appeared as a CDP in the 2010 census; the name changed to Chula Vista for that census. Eagle Pass Independent School District serves the community, linking children and families to schools and activities across the city. Today roads into Eagle Pass, local shops and services, neighborhood churches, and the border economy all shape the place. It is a community with its own Census label but a close practical relationship to the county seat and the Rio Grande crossing, with school and service trips often heading that way.
