About Clarksville

Clarksville is a southern Indiana town across the Ohio River from Louisville. The site was used by George Rogers Clark as a base during the American Revolutionary War, near the only seasonal rapids on the Ohio River. That river setting helped shape the town long before modern suburban growth. Clarksville is also known for the huge Colgate clock, one of the largest clocks in the world. Today it mixes Louisville-area commuting, retail, older neighborhoods, and river history into a practical metro-edge town.
