Clearmont, MO

Clearmont is a city in northwestern Nodaway County, Missouri, United States. The 2020 census counted 158 residents. Clearmont was laid out in 1857 by Alonzo Thompson. Variant spellings include Clairmont, Clearmound and Claremont, some say the community was named after nearby Clear Creek, while others believe the name is a transfer from Clermont, Indiana. The secondary school is West Nodaway High School. The short version is that Clearmont carries an earlier story into the places people know and use now.
