Cleona, PA

Cleona is a Lebanon County borough with 2,005 residents in the 2020 census, tucked into the built-up landscape around Lebanon and the Lebanon Valley. It was incorporated from North Lebanon and North Cornwall townships in 1929, which gives the borough a relatively recent municipal beginning even though the surrounding valley has much older farm, mill, and road history. Cleona’s map is compact, and its daily life is tied to the larger Lebanon area for work, schools, shopping, and regional events.

The borough’s center of gravity is local and practical. Borough Hall sits on West Walnut Street, while Cleona Community Park gives residents a place for summer programs, movies, yard sales, and ordinary time outside. Lebanon Valley events fill the calendar around it, so the small borough stays connected to the region without losing its own name. There is no single monument doing all the storytelling here.
