Clifton Springs is a quiet Finger Lakes village of about 2,200 people, tucked just southeast of Rochester near the Thruway. The town first grew as a 19th-century spa retreat, where visitors traveled from all over to take Dr. Henry Foster's mineral water cure. That healing heritage is still evident today. The grand brick sanitarium remains a central landmark, the Foster Cottage Museum shares local history, and Clifton Springs Hospital & Clinic continues to serve as a major employer.
