About Cobleskill

Cobleskill is a village in the western part of the town of Cobleskill in Schoharie County, southwest of Amsterdam. The 2010 census counted 4,678 residents. SUNY Cobleskill is located on the village's western side. The name combines Cobel with the Dutch word kill, meaning river or creek, and is interpreted as "Cobel's creek." The Schoharie County Sunshine Fair has been held in Cobleskill since 1876. The Cobleskill Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
