Colcord, OK

Colcord is a quiet rural town in northeastern Oklahoma’s Green Country, just minutes from the Arkansas border. The landscape is shaped by rolling farmland, cattle pastures, and poultry ranches, offering plenty of wide-open space and a slower pace. Commuters have a straight shot along State Highway 116 toward nearby spots like Siloam Springs and Jay, while Natural Falls State Park sits right down the road for easy weekend hikes and camping.

The community has deep Cherokee roots dating back to the 1830s, a heritage locals still celebrate each June during the annual Old Settlers Day festival. Day-to-day life centers around a handful of local diners, churches, a grocery store, and the Talbot Library and Museum, a well-known hub for regional history and genealogy research. It is a friendly, grounded town where neighbors look out for one another and open country is always right outside your door.
