About Columbiana

Columbiana is a city and the county seat of Shelby County, Alabama, situated in the southeastern part of the county along Alabama State Route 25. Originally established under the name Columbia, the town was designated as the county seat in 1826 following a civic competition with Calera and Montevallo. Today the city is home to the Shelby County Museum and is served by the Shelby County Schools system.
