Copper City, MI

Copper City is a small, quiet village tucked near the northern edge of Calumet Township in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Grouped closely with neighboring Calumet and Laurium, the community sits right in the heart of historic Copper Country. The area’s rich mining heritage is still very visible today, from preserved industrial landmarks and classic worker cottages to the Keweenaw National Historical Park sites scattered throughout the township.

Living in Copper City means enjoying a relaxed, small-town pace while staying easily connected to everyday necessities. U.S. 41 makes for quick trips up and down the peninsula, while Copper City-Gay Road offers a scenic drive east toward the shores of Lake Superior. Local students attend the nearby Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw campus, and residents head into Calumet for groceries, dining, and community events at the historic Calumet Theatre.
