Copperopolis, CA

Copperopolis is an unincorporated town and census-designated place in Calaveras County, California. Founded in 1860 during the copper boom that supplied the Union Army during the Civil War, the community of approximately 4,285 is registered as a California Historical Landmark. Public education is served by the Mark Twain Union Elementary School District.
