Corfu, NY

Corfu is a Genesee County village in western New York, with 689 residents in the 2020 census. The early settlement was known as Longs Corners until the post office adopted the name Corfu, after the Greek island; the village incorporated in 1868. New York Routes 33 and 77 meet at the center, with Main Street leading east to Batavia and west toward Buffalo. Murder Creek runs along the village’s western side.

Corfu’s map is a crossroads between farm country, Batavia’s county-seat services, and the Darien Lake recreation area. The village is about three miles from Darien Lake and the New York State Thruway, which gives a small Main Street community a larger travel network nearby.
