About Corinth

Corinth is a city and the county seat of Alcorn County, Mississippi, situated on the Tennessee state line at the intersection of U.S. Routes 45 and 72. Established in 1853 at the junction of two strategic railroads, the city of approximately 14,300 was a major Civil War battleground, occupied by Union forces from 1862 to 1864. Today it is home to the Northeast Mississippi Museum and the Corinth Civil War Interpretive Center, and is served by the Corinth School District.
