Cornersville, TN

Cornersville is a Marshall County town seven miles south of Lewisburg, on US 31A, also called State Route 11. The 2020 census counted 1,228 residents. Its name comes from the place where the lines of Giles, Maury, Bedford, and Lincoln counties once met, and the town was settled in 1807 and incorporated in 1830. That border-country origin still fits the map: Cornersville sits on the old north-south road between Lewisburg and Pulaski, with Interstate 65 just west. Town Hall and the historic railroad depot keep the center tied to two different eras.

The first train reached Cornersville in 1914, and the depot remains part of the town's local story. The old rail connection still matters locally. Cornersville Elementary and Cornersville High School are also in town, so the school campus joins the highway and Town Hall as a daily reference point. Cornersville is a compact main-road town at the intersection of old county lines, with Lewisburg close enough to supply the county-seat connection.
