Corwin, OH

Corwin is a Warren County village that began in 1844, when John and Joel Johnson laid it out ahead of the Little Miami Railroad. The line reached the hamlet by 1845, and the Waynesville depot was placed in Corwin, turning the village into a shipping point for grain, tobacco, hogs, lumber, and canned sweet corn. Corwin had its own post office, school system, and municipal government, even as it shared commerce with Waynesville across the Little Miami River. The tracks made the place, and the depot still gives its history a clear center.
