Covington, MI

Covington is a tiny Upper Peninsula community in Baraga County, sitting right near the junction of US 141 and M-28. Strong Finnish roots shape much of the area's local character, from historic spots like the old Bethany Lutheran Church to the annual Finnish Music Festival held every summer around the Fourth of July. The festival brings the community together for live music, church tours, morning breakfasts, and a popular chicken barbecue. From May through October, visitors and locals can also stop by the UP Made Artist Market to browse regional crafts. It is a quiet, close-knit corner of the Northwoods with a rich heritage that residents still celebrate together.
