Coyne Center, IL

Coyne Center is a Rock Island County CDP just south of the Quad Cities, one of the smaller communities included in Sherrard Community Unit School District 200. The district stretches across Rock Island and Mercer counties, with agriculture still part of the area's history and many residents working in the Quad Cities. Coyne Center does not have a separate municipal center in the way a city or village does, so the local map is made up of rural roads, neighboring communities, and the school boundary. Sherrard, Viola, Matherville, and New Windsor are the larger named places in the same district. Coyne Center is a place defined less by a town square than by the farm-and-school network around it.
