About Crested Butte

Crested Butte is a historic home rule town in the Slate River Valley of Gunnison County, Colorado. Originally a summer camp for the Ute people and later a active coal mining community, the town of approximately 1,229 is served by the Gunnison Watershed School District for public primary and secondary education.
