Crete, IL

Crete is a village in Will County, Illinois, situated as a far southern suburb of Chicago near the Indiana state line. Founded in 1836 as Wood's Corner, the community of approximately 8,386 is home to the historic Balmoral Park Racetrack. Public education is served by the Crete-Monee School District 201U.
