Lake County Fairgrounds functions as a public landscape throughout the year, not only during the county fair. The county keeps the grounds open 365 days, generally without an entry or parking fee, and notes that walkers, joggers, and anglers use the property every day. Tree-covered paths circle Fancher Lake and pass historic buildings, the grandstand, and Lake County's only covered bridge, an 1878 structure moved from Rush County during a preservation project. Buildings and shelters can be rented for gatherings, while the annual fair brings 4-H exhibits, livestock, grandstand entertainment, food, and carnival rides. Crown Point's municipal park map identifies more than 20 additional sites. Bulldog Park, near downtown, has become a recurring event venue: its 2025 Saturday market brought together more than 70 farmers and artisans, live music, a splash pad, and morning yoga or tai chi on many market dates.

The city's 2025 population estimate was 35,616, a 5.1 percent increase from its 2020 estimates base; the 2020 census count was 33,899. During 2020-2024, the under-18 share was 23.8 percent, the share age 65 or older was 18.3 percent, and workers' mean travel time was 29.0 minutes. The Crown Point Community Library adds a Main Street civic space open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and on both weekend days. Its 2026 offerings include summer reading, book groups, meeting and study rooms, research databases, and digital books and audiobooks; a separate Winfield branch provides service on the city's southeast side.
