About Crystal Bay

Crystal Bay sits on Lake Tahoe’s north shore at the Nevada-California line, with elevations running from the water up into the surrounding mountain slopes. Its modern history is tied to the resort era: Norman Henry Biltz arrived in 1927, developed subdivisions, and built the Crystal Bay and Cal Neva lodges as hotels and casinos spread along the north shore. Before 2010, the Census Bureau grouped Crystal Bay with Incline Village; today it stands as its own CDP in Washoe County. The quick local read is Tahoe shoreline, state-line geography, and a resort history that grew around a small bay.
