Crystal Lake Park, MO

Crystal Lake Park is a Missouri Class 4 city in St. Louis County, bordered by Frontenac, Town and Country, and Des Peres. The neighborhood began as a 60-acre resort subdivision called Crystal Spring Lake Park, platted in 1922. Its name came from a 16-acre artificial lake that occupied the site from the 1920s until the late 1940s. The area later revolved around Crystal Lake Country Club, which operated from 1929 to 1979; street names such as Country Club, Putter, Cleek, and Divot still preserve that map. The city incorporated as a village in 1938 and became a Class 4 city in 1957.

Today Crystal Lake Park is entirely residential, with its own park and annual picnics, parades, and spring planting project. It sits within the Ladue School District, linking the small city to a larger K-12 system and its Ladue Horton Watkins High School. The former lake and golf course are gone, yet the original resort layout, surviving cottages, tree-lined streets, and golf-themed names keep the development's earlier chapters visible. Grocery stores and shopping centers are nearby in the surrounding St. Louis County communities, while the city's own park and civic calendar provide the local gathering points.
