Curlew, WA

Curlew is an unincorporated community and census-designated place located in northwestern Ferry County, Washington, United States, between Malo and Danville on State Route 21. The 2020 census counted 105 residents. The BNSF Railway ran through the town. The historic Ansorge Hotel is located in Curlew. The through line in Curlew is the way its history and present-day settings remain visible on the same map. Curlew makes the most sense through those concrete details, with its history still visible in the settings people use today. The settlement is named for the curlew birds once prevalent in the area.
