Cushing, OK

Cushing sits in north-central Oklahoma, roughly halfway between Tulsa and Oklahoma City and just south of Stillwater. Home to around 8,300 people, the town is widely known as the "Pipeline Crossroads of the World" thanks to its historic role in the oil industry. Today, it offers newcomers an affordable cost of living, a friendly small-town feel, and convenient access to regional jobs in energy, agriculture, and education.

Families have access to a unified public school system, along with recreation options like the Cushing Aquatic Center, city parks, and sports facilities. The historic downtown district hosts local shops, diners, and community events, while Hillcrest Hospital Cushing handles routine healthcare needs. For bigger shopping trips, specialized medical care, or airport travel, Tulsa and Oklahoma City are both an easy drive away. As with most of Oklahoma, you can expect hot summers, mild winters, and seasonal spring storms, but the quiet pace and welcoming neighbors make Cushing an easy place to settle down.
