About Dadeville

Dadeville is the county seat of Tallapoosa County, Alabama, located along U.S. Route 280 in the east-central part of the state. Originally established as an Indian trading post, the city became the site of Graefenberg Medical Institute, Alabama's first medical school. The completion of the Martin Dam on the Tallapoosa River created nearby Lake Martin, sparking tourism. Today, the town is also known as the home of Wickles Pickles and serves local students through Dadeville Elementary and High schools.
