About Dardanelle

Dardanelle is a historic river city situated on the banks of the Arkansas River in northeast Yell County. Serving as a county seat alongside Danville, the town was established as a river port in the mid-eighteenth century. The surrounding area features notable recreation sites, particularly Mount Nebo and Mount Nebo State Park. Historically, the location was also where Cherokee tribes signed treaties ceding their lands south of the river. Today, Dardanelle remains a key center for the Russellville micropolitan region.
