About Dateland

Dateland is a census-designated place and colonia in Yuma County, Arizona, situated in an area well known for date palm cultivation. Beginning as a road stop in the 1920s, the community gained historical significance during World War II when it served as the site of two of General Patton's desert training camps, Camp Horn and Camp Hyder. The settlement is served by the Hyder Elementary School District and the Antelope Union High School District.
