Daviston, AL

Daviston is a small town in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, recognized as the county's first incorporated rural municipality, established in 1887. The town has a population of under two hundred residents and traces much of its early growth to the late nineteenth century. In 1883, educators Walker and Walter Allen moved to the community, helping to establish the local school that became central to town development.
