About Derby

Derby is the smallest city in Connecticut, situated in New Haven County at the confluence of the Housatonic and Naugatuck rivers. Located eight miles west of New Haven, the community of approximately 12,500 was historically a pioneer in transportation, hosting the first electric trolley system in New England and the first electric locomotive in the nation. The city was also home to Charlton Comics and features the Fountain Lake Commerce Park.
