Derby, KS

Derby is a growing city just south of Wichita in Sedgwick County. Its modern development is closely tied to the Wichita area's aviation economy and McConnell Air Force Base, which helped shape growth during and after World War II. Derby has a strong suburban profile, with schools, parks, bike and walking paths, and a public library that also houses business resources. It is close enough to Wichita for commuting, but large enough to have its own civic rhythm and family-centered local life.
