About Dexter

Dexter is a Lane County community beside Dexter Lake, the Middle Fork Willamette reservoir along Oregon Route 58. Dexter State Recreation Site provides a boat ramp, day-use park, fishing, boating, an 18-hole disc golf course, and trails connecting toward Elijah Bristow State Park. The nearby Dexter Lake Club was used for a road-trip scene in the 1978 film Animal House, a small piece of local pop-culture history. The community’s map is straightforward: Highway 58, the reservoir, the dam, and the Middle Fork corridor meet at the state recreation site.
