Diamondville, WY

Diamondville is a Lincoln County town often linked with nearby Kemmerer, where the 2020 census counted 520 residents. Harrison Church discovered coal near the Hams Fork River in 1868 and built a cabin on the hill where part of Diamondville now stands. Financial backing from Minneapolis led to the Hams Fork River Coal Company, giving the town its first major industry.

The municipal park has a ballfield, tennis and basketball courts, horseshoe pits, a skate park, picnic tables, and a pavilion. A community fishing pond created around 2003 adds another outdoor feature, while Lincoln County School District No. 1 connects Diamondville to the wider Kemmerer area. Hams Fork remains the strongest geographic reference, with coal history and river country meeting around the town. Diamondville's story is a Wyoming coal settlement that still keeps its park, pond, school, and neighboring Kemmerer relationship in view. Kemmerer supplies many larger errands and regional connections. The two towns share the Hams Fork valley today.
