About Dollars Corner

Dollars Corner is a Clark County census-designated place in west-central Washington, where State Route 502 runs three miles east to Battle Ground and three miles west to Interstate 5 Exit 11. The 2020 census counted 1,246 residents. The name comes from the Dollar family farm story, including the old tale that John Dollar traded $150 and two cows for the land. It is an unincorporated place, but the road junction gives it a very clear presence on the county map. Battle Ground Public Schools serves the community, with much of the CDP assigned to Daybreak School for K-8.

Cherry Grove, Meadow Glade, Duluth, and Battle Ground sit around the edges, so Dollars Corner works as a hinge between smaller rural communities and the southwest Washington road network. The road makes the place legible even when the boundaries feel fuzzy to outsiders. Dollars Corner's local scoop is a place whose entire name sounds like a landmark - and whose highway, school boundary, and neighboring communities make it one.
