Double Horn, TX

Double Horn gets its memorable name from a local legend dating back to the 1850s, when early settlers discovered two bucks with their antlers locked near a creek. While pioneers eventually built a small community with a school and a cotton gin, the area spent most of the modern era as a quiet pocket of neighboring Spicewood. That changed in 2019 when residents voted to incorporate as an official city, largely to preserve the rural Hill Country setting they love.

Tucked just north of Highway 71 between Spicewood and Marble Falls, Double Horn offers a peaceful residential feel with spacious acreage properties and rolling views toward Shovel Mountain. Families are served by the Marble Falls Independent School District, and Austin is close enough for a manageable commute or weekend trip. It is an appealing landing spot for buyers who want room to breathe without being cut off from nearby lake recreation, shopping, and dining.
