About Dover
Dover is a city in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, situated along the Tuscarawas River approximately sixty-eight miles south of Cleveland. Originally called Canal Dover for its location along the Ohio and Erie Canal and platted in 1807, the community of approximately 13,000 borders the county seat of New Philadelphia. The annual football rivalry between Dover's Crimson Tornadoes and New Philadelphia's Quakers has been played for more than a century, and public education is administered by Dover City Schools.
