Dover, TN

Dover is Stewart County's seat on the Cumberland River, 67 miles west-northwest of Nashville and part of the Clarksville metro. The 2020 census counted 1,826 residents. Its identity is inseparable from Fort Donelson: the 1862 battle and surrender made the town a nationally important Civil War landscape, and Fort Donelson National Battlefield now includes earthworks, cannons, trails, a visitor center, and a national cemetery.
