Set out in the flat, open farmland of the Arkansas Delta, Dumas is a quiet Desha County community of around 4,000 people. Community spirit runs deep, especially each spring during Ding Dong Days, the town's signature festival inspired by the old novelty tune "I'm a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas." The annual celebration brings neighbors together for a parade, fish fry, live music, and family activities. Between exploring local heritage at the Desha County Museum, grabbing a bite downtown, and heading out to nearby waterways for fishing and duck hunting, Dumas offers a relaxed, welcoming base in southeast Arkansas.
