STARNow vehicles can be requested through an app or by phone from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays; the city's current information lists a $2 adult fare and reduced fares for older adults, veterans, and riders with disabilities. Scheduled demand-response trips extend farther, including connections to DART's Red Bird Transit Center and UNT Dallas Station, and the service can link trips with Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Glenn Heights. Public facilities are similarly concentrated. The city built its recreation center and public library as one complex, and nearby Armstrong Park places a splash pad, amphitheater, playground, gardens, courts, and a 0.77-mile lighted trail across 21.4 acres. Library cardholders can also borrow through reciprocal agreements with Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and Lancaster, while Saturday Maker Time provides access to sewing machines, a Cricut, button maker, and heat press.

Ladd Nature Preserve protects Tenmile Creek, woodland, limestone creek beds, and Blackland Prairie habitat, with soft-surface trails, overlooks, boardwalks, and outdoor classrooms. In May 2026, Armstrong Park also hosted BloomFest, combining local art and makers, food, family activities, live music, and a youth battle of the bands.
