Dunlap, OH

Dunlap is a Hamilton County CDP in Colerain Township about 15 miles north of Cincinnati, with U.S. 27 and Colerain Avenue carrying the main routes through the community. The 2020 census counted 1,658 residents. The place began as a small village along the Colerain Pike and Hamilton Road, first called Georgetown after George Struble, while the surrounding township reaches back to John Dunlap's 1790 frontier station on the Great Miami River. That earlier Dunlap's Station, also called Fort Coleraine, was attacked in 1791 and later abandoned, but its name remains in the cemetery, local markers, and the township's historical collections.

Today's Dunlap is part of the Cincinnati suburban map, with neighborhood streets, Colerain Township services, and the river valley close by. The old roads still matter: Blue Rock, Colerain, and East Miami River roads tie the community to the wider township. Dunlap's local scoop is a modern north-Cincinnati neighborhood pocket carrying the name of a frontier station that once sat down by the river.
