Tucked into the foothills of the Upper Rogue about ten miles northeast of Medford, Eagle Point feels like a peaceful blend of quiet subdivisions and open farmland. The town owes its name to John Mathews, a formerly enslaved man who became a prominent local cattle rancher and suggested "Eagle Point" in 1872. The mill anchored the community for generations, and after a devastating fire destroyed it in 2015, residents rallied to rebuild the landmark so it could produce stone-ground grains once again. Just steps away, the restored Antelope Creek Covered Bridge spans the creek, giving downtown a distinct historic charm that locals cherish.

The town gathers each Fourth of July for an all-day festival featuring a parade, fun run, street fair, and fireworks. Families have access to several neighborhood elementary campuses along with Eagle Point Middle and High School.
