East Dublin, GA

East Dublin is a Laurens County city on the east bank of the Oconee River, across the water from Dublin and its county-seat square. The 2020 census counted 2,492 residents. The city was chartered in 1952, the same year the highway bridge across the Oconee opened, giving the two Dublins a much easier daily connection. U.S. 80 and the river set the basic map, with East Laurens schools and local streets spreading out from the crossing. Buckeye Park gives East Dublin its strongest local landmark: riverfront acreage with a boat ramp, ponds, ball fields, picnic space, and a community house.

A textile mill once supplied the city's main industrial story, while the school cluster and highway businesses now give the place a more residential rhythm. Dublin is the bigger side of the river for courthouse, shopping, and downtown trips, but East Dublin has its own city government, streets, water, sewer, and park. East Dublin's local scoop is a bridge town with a mill past, a river park, and a second-Dublin identity all its own.
