East Hartford, CT

Aircraft-engine research, a football stadium, and the Connecticut River occupy three different parts of East Hartford's public map. Pratt & Whitney's corporate headquarters remains at 400 Main Street, where the company maintains engineering and manufacturing facilities. On Silver Lane, the 38,000-seat Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field stands on a former company airfield and serves as the home field for UConn football; the 2026 schedule listed seven home games there. The town lies on the Connecticut River's east bank directly across from Hartford. It had 51,045 residents in the 2020 census and an estimated 50,968 in July 2025. Great River Park turns the riverbank into a recreation corridor, with a 350-seat amphitheater, public boat launch, fishing access, playground, fitness station, and paved lighted walkways that connect to three bridges.

Riverfront Recapture's 2026 calendar used the park for rowing and exercise sessions as well as a Juneteenth celebration extending across both sides of the river. The town parks department operates five outdoor and two indoor pools and maintains four miles of trail along the Hockanum River; outdoor-pool admission is available to residents without a daily fee when they show the required identification. At Raymond Library, the Creative Commons makerspace includes 3D printers, sewing and embroidery machines, and a desktop CNC machine, and a town partnership uses its printers to make assistive devices for residents. CTtransit Route 121 runs along Silver Lane and Main Street between Manchester Community College and downtown Hartford, with a 255-space park-and-ride in East Hartford.
