East Hope, ID

Set along the scenic northern shores of Lake Pend Oreille in Idaho’s panhandle, East Hope is a tiny waterfront community of around two hundred residents. The town is built right into the steep, wooded hillsides beside neighboring Hope, giving almost every spot an incredible panoramic view across the water and the surrounding mountains. It feels quiet and secluded, yet you are only about twelve miles east of Sandpoint along Highway 200 for shopping, dining, and daily errands.

Life in East Hope centers naturally around the lake. Local marinas, docks, and boat launches make it easy to spend summers fishing, sailing, or grabbing dinner on the water. Residents share the area’s outdoor spots, including the scenic trails and swimming beaches at nearby Sam Owen Campground on the Hope Peninsula.
