Sandpoint, ID

Sandpoint is a northern Idaho city on Lake Pend Oreille, surrounded by mountains and closely tied to outdoor recreation. The Kalispel and Kootenai used the lakeshore long before the modern town developed, and that geography still drives much of Sandpoint's identity. Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Idaho's largest ski resort, sits nearby, while the lake supports boating, fishing, and summer tourism. Sandpoint is also more than a resort gateway, with a small downtown, local arts, and employers such as aircraft manufacturer Quest Aircraft.
